THE URGENT NEED

HOW WE WORK
Built for impact, transparency, and rapid response
Bridge the Gap Project provides rapid, flexible funding to vetted local charities serving children in refugee camps, low-income communities, rural villages, crisis shelters, and other underserved environments worldwide. Through our operational partnerships, we identify urgent needs quickly and help communities access the resources children need to survive, learn, and thrive.
Donations to Bridge the Gap Project are pooled into the Foundation Fund and allocated as needs-based grants to vetted beneficiary charities; the fund also covers Bridge the Gap Project's own lean operating and grant-making costs. Supporting or “adopting” a project creates a named relationship and reporting line with that project, but the grant a beneficiary charity actually receives is sized to its assessed need, not a fixed pass-through of the amount given.

GOVERNANCE & PARTNERS
TRUSTBRIDGE GLOBAL
Bridge the Gap Project is being developed in partnership with TrustBridge Global to establish the project’s philanthropic and charitable funding infrastructure.
Through this partnership, TrustBridge Global supports the development of the project’s Foundation Fund and fiscal sponsorship structure, helping provide the governance, compliance oversight,
and charitable framework needed to facilitate international grantmaking and operational support.
This structure is intended to enable Bridge the Gap Project to responsibly receive philanthropic contributions, distribute charitable funding to education initiatives globally, and support early-stage projects with appropriate administrative oversight and financial stewardship.
TREHAUS
Trehaus also supports projects through its proven, data-driven Subsidy Determination Model, helping ensure resources reach children and communities with the greatest need.
Bridge the Gap Project's founder, Dr Elaine Kim, is also Co-founder and CEO of Trehaus, our operating partner. We disclose this openly because it is the reason Bridge the Gap Project can run as leanly as it does: Trehaus's existing Global Impact Programme is already embedded with these charities on the ground, so Bridge the Gap does not have to build and fund that infrastructure from scratch. This gives us faster, better-informed due diligence, real-time visibility into beneficiary needs, and verified impact reporting — at a fraction of the overhead a comparable foundation would otherwise carry.
Because Trehaus is a mission-driven company rather than a charity, some of the services it provides directly to beneficiary charities — such as teacher training and access to the Little Lab ed-tech platform — carry a fee. Trehaus Gives, Trehaus's charitable arm, sets that fee through a Subsidy Determination Model (SDM): many charities receive services at no cost, and where a fee applies, it is substantially subsidised rather than commercial rate. A modest co-payment, rather than fully free provision, is widely regarded as good practice in philanthropy — it preserves beneficiary organisations' ownership and accountability, and stretches subsidised capacity across more charities rather than a few.
To manage this relationship responsibly, Bridge the Gap Project's grants are reviewed and approved by an independent board, and anyone with a financial interest in Trehaus recuses themselves from decisions involving Trehaus-related transactions.
Bridge the Gap Project operates independently while working in close partnership with Trehaus and its established network of schools, charities, caregivers, and community organizations across Africa, Asia, and the United States.
These longstanding relationships help identify urgent community needs quickly, verify impact directly, and support grassroots organizations that larger funders often overlook.
Through its Global Impact Programme, Trehaus provides training, educational resources, and implementation support within underserved communities.
